With grief we mourn our beloved departed friend Adrian "Taz" Berescu, killed in a motorbike crash yesterdy. It seems like Taz won't be recording with us this autum and our next CD will not be as rich without his magnificent violin. Farewell, friend!

We're so happy to let you all know that we've won the WOA Metal Battle final in Romania and... we're going to perform at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany. Our gig will be held on the W.E.T. Stage on August 4th, 18:45 local time. Hopefully we'll get to see a lot of Romanian flags flying high for us! Warm thanks for all those who have stood by us all these years!

Well, there's good news and... very good news!



First of all, we're reaching 10 years since we've gotten together for the very first time; now we are proud to introduce to you Vlad, our new bass player, former guitarrist of folkmetal band Ashaena and guitarrist in emerging thrash-death project Rotten Remains (together with Mishu on drums and Crivat on bass).



Then it's the acclaimed release of the long-awaited EP called "Duh" (Spright). On Nov the 13th we're released Duh at a huge party in the Cage Club in Bucharest, with some 400 poeple eager to see us and sing along with us.



The EP has been recorded in our very own Tara de Sus studio and has received an extraordinary touch of pro-grade mixing and mastering in Dan Swanö's Unisound studio in Örebro/Sweden. The CD sounds as it should - perfect! You'll soon be able to get the CD from our Facebook account.. T-shirts and girlies are also available so you'd better start wearing them and bang your head while playing our tracks. New pictures are available in the gallery section adn more will follow.



November the 30th brings the release party in Iasi, in the Dublin Pub, our place of choice when it comes to bringing together Metal, Guinness and Jagermeister. Doors open at 19:00 hours and the metal starts at 20:00. We're still supporting the local bands so we'll have AAMON as opening act, a young band from Iasi, playing melodic metal, in the vein of Nightwish. Then it up to Luapru's sideproject PIATRA to get the party going with their catchy songs, followed by our long-time friends from BUCIUM. Bucovina will close the evening with a 90 minutes show to blast you away. Be there or be lame!

This weekend we've finished laying down the guitar tracks for the oncoming EP and things already sound killer. This fact makes us believe that the final product will indeed sound majestic. Keyboards are next as Maanu is working hard these days; it also looks like the initial release period for the EP (end of May) is almost a certain thing.

Bucovina has been rated Romania's fourth best metal act in a poll ran by the metal portal Metalhead.ro. Indeed, it looks like we didn't make it higher because we were too busy gigging and have left the new album for 2010 :) It's still a nice accomplishment that we've made it past bands way older than us. Thanks to the two materials planned for 2010, we're most confident that this rating will change for better next year. Read more (in Romanian) HERE.

We have begun recording a new EP which will be out before the album, somewhere in Q2. It will contain 3-4 songs and will be mixed and mastered in the Unsound Studio by the master Dan Swano himself. We have also decided that we'll do the album with Dan as well so, prepare for some heavy stuff :) No names have been yet given to these two discs, but we'll think this over as recordings go on.

It's also quite nice that gigs are beginning to flow in and the first confirmed show will be on June the 12th, headlining the Sea Wolves Motor Club Meeting, somewhere at the Black Sea shore. Further details will follow. Along with a lot of gigs in Romania, we'll also hit Kiev(UKR) and Chisinau(MD) during the spring.

A new cool T-shirt will soon be available at Romanian merchandisers. Stay tuned for more neat stuff.
